WE ARE THE LARGEST NONPROFIT MULTISPORT FACILITY IN THE GREATER OKLAHOMA CITY METROPOLITAN AREA FOCUSED ON CREATING INCLUSIVE PROGRAMS THAT SERVE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES, VETERANS, AND UNDER-RESOURCED YOUTH TO CREATE COMMUNITY AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR EACH TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH AND WELLNESS.
The Santa Fe Family Life Center (“SFFLC”) began in 2007, expanding the healthy activities available at the facility and opening the doors to charitable organizations in the community. Prior to 2007, the SFFLC was a private tennis club, known as the Santa Fe Fitness & Racquet Club. Upon receiving the facility in 2007, the Knights of Columbus recognized the lack of a community recreation center serving individuals with disabilities in Oklahoma City, and set course to address this issue. In order to better serve the community, the Santa Fe Family Life Center added a swimming pool, and expanded the fitness and basketball programs. A major milestone for the SFFLC was its Facility Accessibility Improvements Project. The goal of this project is to make the facility not just accessible, but “usable” by all abilities. The Santa Fe Family Life Center partners with a number of other nonprofits to provide appropriate programming and ensure participant success in its charitable programs.
