Pickleball Brings the Community Together
At Santa Fe Family Life Center, we are all about improving the lives of Oklahomans through community. One aspect of our facility that sets us a part is the strong pickleball opportunities that we have available for all ages and abilities. Every morning from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (and sometimes even longer if you still can’t get enough), we have between 40 to 100 pickleball players working on their skills, enjoying a round robin event, taking beginner lessons or just enjoying some free play. If you have never played pickleball it is the fastest growing sport in the world and involves a paddle and whiffle ball and played is like playing a combination of tennis and ping pong (or table tennis if you want to be official). At SFFLC we are blessed to have one of the premier ambassadors of the sport leading our program – Rocky Arrington. According to Rocky, “the great part about pickleball is that it a lot of fun, a great workout and you can be as competitive or non-competitive as you want”. At SFFLC we are all about providing opportunities for all abilities so having a sport like pickleball at our facility is just a natural fit.
If you are interested in getting involved in pickleball or any other sports please give us a call at 405-840-1817 and we can plug you into the right channels. Our mission it to serve all Oklahomans so we will find a place for you and help get you meet your fitness, recreation and sporting needs.
